A critical edition of the Julius Valerius’ history of Alexander the Great, edited by a German jurist, archeologist and classical philologist Bernhard Kübler (1859–1940), who was specialized in the history of Roman law, which was the subject of most of his works. Julius Valerius Alexander Polemius (3rd to 4th century AD) was a translator of the Greek Pseudo-Callisthenes, the romantic history of Alexander the Great, to the Latin Res gestae Alexandri Macedonis. His work is important in connection with the transmission of the Alexander romance in the Middle Ages. Year of publishing: 1888
