The most eminent of the faculty in Great Britain, France, and Germany, have eulogised the Pills and their inventor. A WONDERFUL CURE OF A STOMACH COM- PLAINT AFTER FORTY YEARS STANDING. Mr. John Sloan, of Aughnacley, informed Professor Holloway by letter that Mrs. Walker, residing in the same town had been afflicted with a complaint in the stomach for nearly forty years, which defied the efforts of all the faculty round the neighbourhood to cure. Nothing whatever seemed to have the effect of rendering her any relief; in a state of despair she had recourse to Holloway's Pills, which in an incredible short period completely and effectually cured her. AN EXTRAORDINARY CURE OF A LIVER COMPLAINT. William Macdonald, of Her Majesty's Highland Regi- ment, has gratefully acknowledged to Professor Holloway the wonderful efficacy of this astonishing medicine. He suffered with liver complaint and all its attendant evils, during fourteen years' residence in India. His constitu- tion was so enfeebled that he was compelled to return home, when he was induced to try Holloway's Pills, which effected a perfect cure, after the most eminent of the faculty had failed to do him the slighest good. THE GREAT EUROPEAN REMEDY FOR NERVOUSNESS, RELAXATION AND EXHAUSTION Protected by Royal Letters Patent, and sanctioned by all the great Continental Colleges of Medicine. DR. DE ROOS' CELEBRATED GUTTÆ VITÆ; or, LIFE DROPS, are the great European Remedy fur Spermatorrhoea, Exhaustion, Nervousness, Debility- Aversion to and Incapacity for Society, Study of Business, Shaking of the Hands and Li iibs, Indigestion, Flatu, lency, Shortness of Breath, Asthma, Consumptive Habits, Dimness of Sight, Dizziness, Pains in the Head, Eruptions, Blotches, Pimples, Sore Throat, Pains in the Bones and Joints, Scurvy, Scrofula, and all those distases for which mercury, sarsapanlla, &c., are not only employed in vain, but too often to the utter destruction of the sufferer's health. Their almost marvellous powers must be felt to believed. Hundreds of apparently hopeless cases, which had been given up by the faculty, have been speedily cured, and many thousands have derived almost miraculous relief, when everything else had signally failed. The Guttse Vitee are the result of long practical investigation of the remedies best adapted for these diseases, and in addition to the great test EXPERIENCE, they have received the sanction of many of the highest medical authorities throughout Europe, as entirely superseding all those questionable remedies which have too long been the sole reliance of the medical men of this country. Price lis., and four times the quantity at 33s. per bottle, of the following agents, and through every other Chemist in the world. PAINS in the BACK, GRAVEL, LUMBAGO, RHEU- MATISM, GOUT, DISEASES of the KIDNEYS, STRICTURE, &c. DR. DE ROOS' COMPOUND RENAL PILLS are celebrated all over the worla GO a most safe and speedy remedy for tho abuve dangerous complaints, Dis- charges of any kind, Stone in the Bladder, and Diseases of the Kidneys and Urinary Organs generally. Possessing tonic properties, they agree with the most delicate stomach, strengthen the digestive organs increase the appetite, improve the general health, and in three days will effect a cure when copaiba, cubebs, and all dangerous medicines of that class have utterly failed. Is. ld., 2s. 9d., 4s. 6d., lis. and 33s. per box, of all the Agents below, and through every other Chemist in the world, or will be sent post free on receipt of the amount in postage stamps. These celebrated Pills are an infallible remedy in the most obstinate cases. By their use alone, many thousands have been annually restored to health, when every other medicine has failed. Their vast superiority over every thing else in the cure of the above complaints, is univer- sally acknowledged, and the extraordinary demand for them ever since their first introduction is without prece- dent. In no instance have they ever been known to fail, or produce those dangerous symptoms so often resulting from copaiba, cubebs, turpentine, and other medicines usually resorted to. They require neither confinement nor change of diet, and may justly be considered the only really safe and efficacious remedy for all stages of those disorders for which they are recommended. By the introduction of the above, the Proprietor has no desire to supersede his own personal usefulness, but there are doubtless many who from natural diffidence, sense of shame, or fear of discovery, would bear their afflictions in silence rather than apply for aid, or unbosom their sorrows to those from whom they may reasonably expect sympathy and relief. To such it is believed the above will be an acceptable boon, for besides their uniform efficacy, the sufferer can safely conduct his case without the knowledge of a second person, and thus secure himself speedily, pri- vately, and at the least possible expense. However, the knowledge must cone some time, and happy is the porson who does not become its possessor too late. -Politician. The above work, which contains the practical remarks of nearly a quarter of a century, and treats in plain and sympa- thising language on the various impediments and disqualiiiea- tions to marriage, particularly recommends itself as a safe, unerring, and infallible guide to the speedy restoration and permanent preservation ot health and vigour. For want of a book of this nature, many a once promising youth who started fairlv on the voyage of hie, has been awfully and irretrievably wrecked on the shoals and quicksands which beset his course. The necessity and importance of the work are further shown by the fact, that there are lew persons who do not at some period acquire such ii .formation as may be found in its pages. While therefore it affords a wholesome lesson to the inexpe- rienced, its perusal may also be instrumental in averting the serious consequences of indiscretion from those who have unhappily incurred them and as tho treatment recommended has been unitormly successful in many thousands of parallel cases, the reader may the more (;onfidently anticipate for himself the same beneficial result. Hendraws, Llangranog, Newcastle Emlyn, 6th July, 1857. DR. DE JONGH'S LICHT-BROWN COD LIVER OIL Prescribed by eminent Medical Men as the most speedy and effectual remedy for CONSUMPTION, BRONCHITIS, ASTHMA, GOUT, RHEUMATISM, SCIATICA, DIABETES, DISEASES OF THE SKIN, NEURALGIA, RICKETS, INFANTILE WASTING, GENERAL DEBILITY, AND ALL SCROFULOUS AFFECTIONS. Contains iodine, phosphate of lime, volatile fatty acids- in short, all the most active and essential curative pro- perties—in larger quantities than the Pale Oils manufactur- ed in Great Britain and Newfoundland, mainly deprived of these by their mode of preparation. The well-merited celebrity of Dr. de Jongh's Oil is attest- ed by its extensive use in France, Germany, Holland, Belgium, and Italy, by numerous spontaneous testimonials from eminent members of the faculty and scientific chemists of European reputation, and since its introduction into this country, by the marked confidence as well as great success with which it has been prescribed by medical practitioners. In many instances where other kinds of Cod Liver Oil have been taken with little or no benefit, it has produced almost immediate relief, arrested disease, and restored health. SELECT MEDICAL OPINIONS:— A. B. GRANVILLE ESQ.. M.D., F.R,S.. Author of The Spas of Germany," The Spas of Eng- land," On Sudden Death," S$c., c. "Dr. Granville has used Dr. de Jongh's Light-Brown Cod Liver Oil extensively in his practice, and has found it not only efficacious, but uniform in its qualities. He believes it to be preferable in many respects to Oils sold without the guarantee of such an authority as De Jongh. DR. GRAN- VILLE HAS FOUND THAT THIS PARTICULAR KIND PRODUCES THE DESIRED EFFECT IN A SHORTER TIME THAN OTHERS, AND THAT IT DOES NOT CAUSE THE NAUSEA AND INDIGES- TION TOO OFTEN CONSEQUENT ON THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE PALE NEWFOUNDLAND OILS. The Oil being, moreover, much more palatable, Dr. Granville's patients have them- selves expressed a preference for Dr. de Jongh's Light- Brown Cod Liver Oil." "The LANCET." Dr. de Jongh gives the preference to the Light-Brown Oil over the Pale Oil, which contains scarcely any volatile fatty acid, a smaller quantity of iodine, phosphoric acid, and the elements of bile, and upon which ingredients the efficacy of Cod Liver Oil, no doubt, partly depends. Some of the deficiencies of the Pale Oil are attributable to the method of its preparation, and especially to its filtration through charcoal. IN THE PREFERENCE OF THE LIGHT- BROWN OVER THE PALE OIL WE FULLY CONCUR. We have carefully tested a specimen of Dr. de Jongh's Light-Brown Cod Liver Oil. We find it to be genuine, and rich in iodine and the elements of bile." Sold ONLY in IMPERIAL Half-pints, 2s. 6d. Pints, 4s. 9d. It searches out and purifiies the diseased humours from the blood, and cleanses the system from all deteriorating causes; it also constitutes a certain cure for Scurvy, Scrofula, and all Cutaneous Eruptions, removing and expelling in its course all corruptions and impu- rities from the vital stream, so as altogether to eradicate the virus of disease, and expel it with the insensible perspiration through the medium of the pores of the skin and is a never failing remedy for that class of disorders which, unfortunately, the English Physician treats with mercury, to the inevitable destruction of the patient s constitution, and which all the saisaparilla in the world cannot remove.
