Coxewwas of the Life Boat.—Capt. D. Hicks, Mr W. Simons. APPEAL. As the frightful and heartrending circumstances attending Shipwreck are so well known to all, and are -So calculated to excite the sympathy of every humane person, but especially of those who reside on the soast, the Local Committee feel that they might only weaken their appeal by adding any reasonings of their own on the subject. They are, however, happy to be in a position to state that, through the Royal National Life Boat Institution, 'the cost, amounting to J6420, of the St David's new Life Boat and transporting carriage will be presented to the locality by Lord Dartmouth and his tenantry, on Condition that some assistance towards the expense, say JE200, of a substantial and commodious boat house, and subscriptions of from JE15 to £ 20 a year to help to meet the purely local expense of the coxswains' salaries, and the crew for practising in the life boat every quarter, be eoller ted in our town and its vicinity. The Parent Institution in London will pay all expenses of rewards to th«j crew of our life boats for saving or attempting to Itori life; also the cost of repairs, painting, replacement 81 gear, &c, on the life boat establishment. The Local Committee, having received the promise of much valuable assistance from the Parent Institution in London in aid of their own exertions, are anxious that 'the inhabitants of St David's and its neighbourhood should so far as possible, have the satisfaction and the 'Credit of helping to maintain, by their own exertions *nd from their own resources, a life boat for affording Istiecour to those unfortunate persons who may be cast Away on our shores. Withoat, however, the pecuniary assistance and the hearty general co-operation of the people of St David's *nd its neighbourhood, and Pembrokeshire at large, their objects and those of the Society cannot be carried out in this place. The Local Committee, therefore, earnestly Appeal to the benevolent people of St David's, and its "etghboarbocd generally, to aid them in this necessary. 8Iril philanthropic undertaking. 'Contributions in aid of the first cost of this Life moat Establishment, and of its future permanent main- tenance, are earnestly solicited, and will be thanktully deceived at the Bankers of the Branch Institution, and %y all the members of the Local Committee, from whom -every informatiop can be obtained N.B.—The Bishop of St David's, and J. H. Scourfield, i£.q, M.P. have each given a donation of j610. | DINNEFORD'S FLUID MAGNESIA.
