Abridged Prospectus. THIS COMPANY is formed to ERECT and CARRY ON A NEW THEATRE and OPERA HOUSE, and otherwise utilise the sites, offers of which have been obtained, and which occupy a commanding situation in the centre of the town of Swansea. The site selected is at the corner of Goat-street and Caer-street; the buildings proposed to be purchased being those now in the occupation of Messrs. Harvey and Co., Mr. Edwin Davies (the Vendor), and Mr. E. M. Roe, together with the large warehouse and premises, of which the latter buildings only will be removed. The purchase money required for this property, including compensation to the tenants, is £2,900, and the property will be subject to a ground rent of zC80 per annum. It is estimated that a rent will be obtained from the buildings left standing of J6150. which will thus cover the interest on the purchase money. The remainder of the site required consists of some 45 feet in Goat-street and 100 feet in Caer-street, and will be subject to a ground rent of only £125 per annum. On the ground floor will be three new shops, which it is calculated will bring in a total annual rental of £ 75. The Theatre itself will bold about 1,700 people, and the accommodation has been specially arranged to meet the requirements and habits of the Swansea people having a large pit and gallery. A most careful estimate has been made of the probable return to the shareholders, and it is confidently anticipated that a return of from 10 to 12 per cent. will be received on the paid-up capital. No contracts have as yet been entered into, but the documents containing the offers of the sites before men- tioned, may be seen at the office of the Secretary, where copies of the memorandum and articles of association may be inspected and prospectuses obtained. In the event of no allotment being made, the deposit money will be returned in full.
