GLAMORGANSHIRE. SWANSEA VALLEY. VALUABLE ANTHRACITE COAL AND OTHER PROPERTY. MR JOHN M. LEEDER has been in- structed to OFFER FOR SALE by PUBLIC AUCTION, at the Mackworth Arms Hotel, Swansea, on TUESDAY, the 10th day of December, 1&78, at Two for Three o'clock in the Afternoon, ali that well-known ANTHRACITE COLLIERY, called the CWMLL YNFELL COLLIEFY, Which has for nearly half a century been carried on by Messrs James and Aubrey, and comprises a mineral pro- Ssrty of about 670 acres, of which about 150 are copy- old of the Manor of Caegurwen, and the remainder Leasehold. THE COPYHOLD PORTION Consists of the Farms called "Coedfalde," "Ty- newydd," and Pantybara," containing about 150 acres, with farm-houses and out-buildings. A recently erected and commodious house suitable for the resi- dence of a. Managing Partner, also stabling forcollfer3r horses. Much of the Land is admirably a.dapted for building, and the whole (except a small portion already let on building leases) is now in hand. The iron-ore, iron-stone, and quarries of stone, and beds of clay and sand, under this property are subject to a lease granted by R. D. Gough, Esq., to Mr Geo. Crane, for the term of. 99 years, from the 1st day of July, 1837, and t ie rents aad royalties (except surface rents) in respect of the same, belong to the said It. D. Gough, a term of r9 years and two days from the 1st day of July, 1837, being reserved to him to enable him to receive the same. THE LEASEHOLD PORTIONS Comprise the Colliery, with the pits, shafts, ievels, and engine houses, smiths' and carpenters' shops, sawiiig machine, offices, and cottages, and the coal, culm, iron- stone, and iron ore under the farm called '•CWJiLLYN- FELL," containing 80 acres, or thereabouts", held for the term of 60 years, from the 1st day of January, 1S25. Ex- tensive railway sidings have been constructed by the lessees on this property to connect the Colliery with the Midland Railway. The coal, culm, ironstone, iron ore, stone, fire clay, clay, and sand within and under the fanii and lands called "YSTRADOWEN," containing 251a. lr. 39p., held for the term of 60 years from the 25th day of March, 1873. The coal and iron-ore, or iron-stone, and all other minerals, clay, and stone, in or under the farm and lands called CWMTWRCH," containing 91a. 2r. 13p., held for a term of GO years, from the 1st day of July. 1851. Also the surface of the said farm, held for the term of 21 years from the 25th day of March, 1872. This farm is let to Mr William Griffiths, as a yearly tenant, at the rent of £ 53. The rents reserved by the above leases amount together to £421, and the royalties vary from 4d to 8d on coal, the other royalties being correspondingly low. Rents for surface damage are also reasonable. Almost all the veins of coal known in the district lie under this property, including the Big Vein, Brass Vein, and Tregloln Vein. The lower measures under the whole, and much of the Big Vein under Coedfalde, and the Brass and Big Veins under Ystradowen, remain unworked. The property is situate in the parishes of Llanguicke and Llangadock, about 16 miles from the Port of Swan- sea, to which acccss is obtained by means of the Swansea Vale Section of the Midland Railway, The Port of Llanelly is also within reasonable distance by rail; and the Colliery is included in the through booking of the various Railway Companies to all the principal markets in England.1; The Colliery is open for a considerable daily out-put, and is in constant work, the trade connection being ex- tensive, and much of it of long standing, so that the good- will of the business is of considerable value. The fixed and moveable machinery and plant at the Colliery, which is considerable, will be included in the sale, but the Colliery horses and ponies, and live and dead farming stock, will have to be taken at a valuation in the usual way. The Firm have always kept a stock of a few thousand tons of coal and culm at the Colliery, which the purchaser of the Colliery will have the option of pur- chasing, The present selling price at the pit's mouth for best coal is 6s 9il to 7s 6d nett per statute ton, the prices of other qualities varying from a minimum of 8s per ton for culm to the before-mentioned prices. There aie no contracts in hand, so that full advantage could be taken of any upward movement in the coal trade. A Freehold House anii Garden called Gellea-uchaf, in the Parish of Llanjadock, now held by Griffith Davica (who is a very old man), at the annunl rent of X4 4s, will be offered for sale at the same time in separate lots. Printed particulars and conditions of sale will shortly be issued, and further particulars, with leave to view, may be obtained on application to the Auctioneer, Ox- ford Chambers, Oxford-street, Swansea; or to Messrs STRICK & BELLINGHAM, 39598 Solicitors, Swansea. HUNT ORSBORN'S FIRST PRO- FESSIONAL VISIT TO CARDIFF AND SWANSEA. Mr G. H. ORSBORN, representative of Messrs Wetton and Co., inventors and patentees of the Magneticon, begs to intimate that he is at present paying a visit to South Wales, and may be consulted daily on and after THURS- DAY, NOVEMBER 21st, at MR J. LONG'S, 56. CROCKHERBTOWN, CARDIFF. For the purpose of giving advice as to the application of MAGNETISM AS A CURATIVE AGENT, And explaining the principles of Messrs. Wetton and Co.'s Patent Magneticon Appliances, of which he will have a large assortment. Mr Orsborn has arranged for Mr J. M'Coy, of Messrs Wetton's Edinburgh establishment, to be in atte ndance daily at 104, OXFORD-STREET, SWANSEA, For a short period longer. Hours of Attendance at Cardiff and Swansea10 to 1 3 to 5, and 6 to 7. NO CHARGE FOR VISITS OR CONSULTATI )N3. Among the special advantages to the Magneticon Ap- pliances are:— Their simplicity ard safety. Their ability to generate electricity without the aid of Batteries, Metallic Plates, Chain Bands, or Acids. They require no preparation, give no shocks, and cause no sores and as the magnetic current passes readily through an intervening garment, they do not require to be worn next the skin. Being made up of light and elastic material, they are as comfortable to wear as an ordinary garment. Though more especially useful in certain classes of diseases, their gently invigorating influence upon the whole system cannot fail to be very beneficial to most invalids, and to those who suffer from any bodily or organic weakness, while their direct action upon the nerves renders them equally useful in many cases which the ordinary remedies fail to effect. THE GREAT SECRET OF HEALTH Is never to lose more life-force than the lungs and blood can restore to the nervous system. We constantly radi- ate this force, and as constantly lose it. It is necessary to health, for life is maintained by a proportionate activity of all the forces. Any lagging in a vital organ, and down goes the thermometer of life; and this is where magnetism lends a most efficient aid. It can be locally applied to any part of the body-over any groat nervous centre—and the lagging organ gently stimulated to do its duty. Any applications by letter will receive careful atten- tion, and suitable appliances or advice respecting them will be forwarded by return post. Mr G. Hunt Orsborn may be consulted by appoint- ment, and, wheu desired, will call upon invalids at their homes. A 32-page Illustrated Pamphlet, containing testi- monials and full particulars of Edgar Wetton's P. tent Magnetic Beits, Chest Protectors, Lung Invisrorators, Nerve Invigorators, Spine Bunds, Knee Caps, Wristlets, Anklets, S01es, &c', will be forwarded, post free, or may be had gratis on application. LOCAL TESTIMONIALS. BAD CIRCULATION. Tredegar, September 27th, 1S78. SIR,—The belt and pair of soles I purchased of you whilst at Shrewsbury have, 1 am happy to say, answered my moet sanguine expectations. For many years I was a. g-reat sufferer from cold feet an,l its attendant, evils, consequent upon bad circulation, but since I have worn the ajipliances these distressing symptoms have entirely left me, It is with the greatest possible pleasure I edd my testimony to that of others as to the curative proper- ties of the Magneticon. I remain, Sir, faithfully yours, W. BOX. DEBILITY, 23, Mansel-sireet, Swansea, November 10th, 1878. Dear Sir,—It is with great pleasure I add my testimony to the value of the Magneticon appliances. About 12 months since I was in a frightful s.ato of general do. bility, and suffered Eeverely from palpitation of the heart, neuralgia, pains in the head, indigestion, anu many other ailments which are too frequently the natu- ral result of a nervous system considerably below j ar. On the rccommcnaation of a friend in Penzance, I pur- chased a belt and spine band of your firm, and was soon, I am happy to say, conscious of a great change in my general health. I became much stronger, the symptoms I avo described gradually decreased, and I felt like a man who had taken a new lease of life. My friends are astonished at the charge in me; and no wonder, for I had consulted many well-known medical men, and had had rccourSc to a host of so-called remedies," without desiving the slightest b nefit. Tiic improvement in IRV health still continues, and I c-.n it w walk 15 or 20 miles without feeling the least fatigued. 3!y appetite, too, is capital, whereas before wearing the Magneticon I could scarcely bear the look of food. Trusting you will be successful in introducing your valuable appliances into South Wales, I remain, my dear Sir, Your grateful servant, II. J. M. P.S.—You can give my name to anyone who L13- desire to refr to me, and I shall be glad to answer any enquiries. BPIaAL CO.IULA.KT. New Oxford-slrcet, Swansea, November 3th, 1878. SIR,-Ibving- for many years been a great sufferer from spinal complaint anrl nervous debility I feel it niv duty to acquaint you of the great relief 1 have derived through wearing your belt and spine band, and can only I thank G \J that I was fortunate enough to hear of your valuable p-tent. I am doubly pleased to he able to say this, ior although I did not a1tog:ctl;cr ignore the wonder- ful results so frequently attained through the agency of magnetism, yet I must confers I was somewhat sceptical as to its elSeaey in my owli case, which was a very bad one, aDd considered almost hopeless. Yours in gratitude, JAM I S LEWIS MARTIN. The fallowing is from Air H, T. Wnr'n late depu'y- chairman of the Plymouth Chamber of Coi.me. (e :— RI.I.El'LESSNESS, Osborne s Plymouth, 4th Jrm, 1878. For a long tin e I suffered from want o; sleep, and abont. 10 weeks since 1 purchased a Magnetic Cap from your representative, bee then I h,. a had a Spine I'an-1 of him, and I am hnppy to say my is quite restored, and I cap now sleep as well as ever I did in m v life. I have, therefore, great pleasure in recommending these Appliances to all who suffe' in a like manner. H^iNilY J. WARING. For years I have suffered considerably in winter from relaxed threat; but lam grateful to say that ever since I have worn thego I have never had a momentary return of clerical throat." I have also been greatly relieved from pains across the back. I can cordially recommend the use of the various Appliances, as the need may be, of The Magneticon." A. MORTON BROWN, LL.D,, Minister of the Congregational Church. CHRONIC ASTHMA. 33, Treville-street, Plymouth, 3rd June, 1878. DEAR Sm,-The Magneticon Lung Invigorator which I purchased of you two months since I am happy to say is doinsr good work. I have made about 6 lbs increase in weight in that time appetite is better, and goneral health and tone much improved. I am the more pleased to be able to say this, as I had always been rather scepti- cal as to the value of such appliances in such cases as mine, it being one of long standing, and I confidently hope to be able to report to vku a still further progress. I am, dear sir, faithfully yours, F. B. DVNSTAN. INFLAMMATION. Hill Park-cre-cent, P yinouth, Jnly 19, 1877. Twelve months 80"'0 I purchased a Lung Invigorator and Belt, and am glad to say that the benefit I have èe- rived from them is wonderful. During the winter of 1876-7 I have been entirely free from a cough which had formerlv been very troublesome, and was caused by in- flammation of the bronchial tubes. I have also been able to < o without cod liver oil, which had cost me about £1 or r year..Anyone who suffers from a complaint such as this I should strongly recommend to try the I shall esteem it a favour if you will make t his knowu, and will, with pleasure, answer any questions, HENRY LOVELESS. HEADACHE. T Brixham, March SO, 1877. T V v? rouch pleasure in testifying to the great benefit 1 have derived from wearing your Magneticon Belt sup- phed me a short time since. I had been for many years a great sufferer from bilious headache, which quite pros- trated mo once a week, so that I could not attend to my business for the day. I have now worn the Belt and the Cap morning and evening for, I think, about six weeks, and have only had the headache once, and my general health is g-reaily improved. I should not like to be with- out it for anything. W. G. TULLY. WETTON AND CO. LONDON- VY 48, Regent-street. EDINBURGH—17 and 18A, Maitland-street.
