PARTICULARS OF AN IMPORTANT JL SALE of a Valuable MINERAL PROPERTY (by Private Contract), Compri-ing 1.11 the Coai Mines, Beds, and Seams of Coal, lying in and under all that "Northern Portion" of Gellydwyll Farm, situated in the parish of Bedwellty, in the county of Monmouth, and containing an area of 32A. 2R. 9p. more or less, held under an Indenture, dated 19th Sep- wmher, 18C5, for a term of 1,000 years, at a nominal ground rent cf two shillings per annum. The above Property is intersected by the Sirhowy Railway, and is thus connected with the Shipping Port of Newport (16 miSes distant) and Tredegar, also the important iron-making districts of Sirhowy, Ebbw Vale, Nantyglo, and Blaenavon and by means of the Merthyr, Tredegar, and Abergavenny Railway, and its connections, access is given to Eowlais and Merthyr. It contains all the Seams of Coal of the Dowlais and Merthyr districts. The Mynyddyslwyn Seam has been nearly worked out under the property, but the well- known Britlidir Seam, it is believed, will be found there at a depth of not more than 200 yards, as it is now being extensively worked in the Rhymney, the Bargoed Rhymney, and Taff Bargoed Valleys. This Seam at the Cefn Brithdir Pits, 2 miles north-west of the property, proves from 3ft. bUlB. to 3ft. 9ins. thick, in one solid Block of Coal, with excellent Rock Top at the Holly Bush it proves about the same thickness, and equally good in quality. The Brithdir Coal is highly bituminous, a good Coking Coal, and in great de- mand for iron-making. The Steam Coal, as forked by ti e Powell Duffryn Colliery Company, situated at their new Tredegar Pit?, and by the Dowlais Iron Com- pany, at the Fochrhiw Pits, wi:1 doubtless be found under. this property at a depth of from 500 to 600 yaids. This is the key to the extent of several hundreds of acres of the adjoining property, wlreh can, it is believed, be had. The situation of this property will necessarily become most valuable, and second to none in the Principality, for the creation of a permanent and first-cla>S Co liery. The averape thickness of the whole of the Steam Coals is 23ft., and will, after making the visual deductions, pro- duce about 20,000 Ions per acre. The average thickness ofthe whoie of the Bituminous Coals is 5ft., and, after making the usual deductions, is estimate 1 to produce about 6,000 Tons per acre. For further particulars, IISSPE^»N of lease, and con- ditions of tale, apply to Mr G. W. H.
