ABRIDGED PROSPECTUS. This Company has been formed to purchase and con- solidate certam valuable properties situated on the coast of Carnarvon Bay, near the town of Nevin, and known as the Vaenol and Nanhoron" aud the" Moel Dywywch Granite Quarries. The area of all the properties is about 130 acres, and thev are held under three leases, at a gross dead rental of £90, rising to £175,9 and merging in the usual small royalties. The quarries are in full working order, and there are already laid down and erected on the property a tramway from the two first before-named quarries to the sea asubstantial jetty, with complete shipping appliances, steam crusher for macadam, substantially- built hoppers, wagC1Ds, etc. Granite trom tnese quarries has been laid in London and many of the principal towns in Lancashire for street working and it has also been used for tramways in North and South Wales, and by the London and North-Western Railway for some ofjtheir works at Holyhead, and owin to he proved superiority of syenite graDlte (of which thi-s Company's quarnes con. tain practically an unlimited supply of the very best quality) for paving streets having heavy traffic, a great and increasing demand has arisen tor setts of this description. The business is one of a permanent and non-specu- lative character, and, notwithstanding complaints in almost every other branch of business there is even now a healthy activity in the Syenite Quarries of Car- narvonshire, which, owing t.8 the quantity of granite required for public works now projected and in cou. se of construction, and to the steady, and regular demand for paving setts, is not likely to diminish. It may be stated that:one Northern Corporation alone is reported to have placed orders during the last year for 100,00 tons of paving 8etts, at prices above thosEl upon which the profit calculated in the estimates referred to below is made. The profits on setts may be taken at 6s to 7s 6cl per ton. But assuming it to be only a ton, on an output of only tons per month it is estimated that (independently of the profits of the macadam trade, wh'ch is oflarge dimensions, and which, it is antici- pated, will pay all the standing charges) a dividend of lOjjer cent..win be earned on the called up capital and as this output may be considered small, hiber dividends may be looked for. In fact, 200 ?ett makers can be employed within one month who will produce about 2,400 tons of setts monthly, and a corresponding quantity of macadam, instead of the 1,000 tons above referred to. Two of the Directors have made all independent inspection of the quarries, and satisfied themselves as to the desirability and value of the property. Copies of the Reports of Engineers, Leases, and Agreement, and of the Memorandum and Articles of As-ociation, can be seen at the Offices of the Company. Prospectuses and Fonns of Application for Shares can be had there, or at the Bankers'. 81344 MIDDLESBROUGH CORPORATION .itJL LOAN, stock, at 3 per cent. interest per annum, redeemable at par 1st January, 1911.
