To confirm an Agreement, dated the 14th day of April, 1897, and made between the Marquess of Bute and the Mayor, Aldermen, and Burgesses of the County Borough of Cardiff (hereinafter re- ferred to as "the Corporation "), for and in rel a- tion to the purchase by the Corporation from the said Marquess of certain lands in the Borough known as Cathays Park" and other lands adjoining, and the reconveyance to the said Marquess of certain land situate in Park-place, Cardiff, conveyed to the Corporation by Indenture of 12th March, 1895. 2. To empower the Corporation to grant as a free gift to or for the University of Wales a site in the said park whereon to erect buildings for the University and the officials thereof. 3. To empower the Corporation with or without pecuniary consideration to grant in perpetuity or lease for any term of vears to or for the use of the University College of South Wales and Mon- mouthshire, the Glamorganshire Cou Council, or to or for the use of any educational or other public or local authority institution or hodyany lands in the said park for the erection thereon of buildings. 4. To empower the Corporation to erect and main- tain in the said park a Town Hall, Law Courts, and other Municipal or public offices and build- ings, and to charge rent for the use thereof or of any part thereof respectively, for the purpose of holding a County Court therein. 5. To acquire lands for Tramway Depots and stations for generating electricity and for the widening of Albany-road ana for the purposes of the Infectious Diseases Hospital of the Corpora- tion. 13. To relieve the Library Rate from the payment of interest and sinking fund charges in respect of loans under Public Libraries Acts and to pay the same out of the Borough Fund or Borough Rate direct. 14.
