Sostratus of Cnidus was Greek engineer and architect. He designed and built the lighthouse of Alexandria (one of the seven wonders of ancient times), a suspended garden at Knidos, the deflection of the Nile in order to conquer Menphis and a monumental terrace in Delphi.
